Common Small Business Legal Issues
Brought to you by NW Women’s Business Center Community Capital
Development
As you start up and grow your business, you may start thinking about the
risks of venturing out on your own. This program will discuss the risk, how
to protect against it, and when you should consult a lawyer. Topic include
business structures, insurance, contracts, trademarks, leases, employees,
and other legal issues you have questions about.
Speaker: MICHELLE BOMBERGER - JD, MBA
Michelle Bomberger, founder of Small Business Legal Services PLLC, is an
experienced businesswoman turned lawyer. Michelle began her career in
business as a consultant with Ernst & Young LLP serving Fortune 500 clients
and further deepened her knowledge of business operations as a Senior
Manager of Auditing Services at Cingular Wireless. She found her passion for
working with small business owners and entrepreneurs while in graduate
school at Northwestern University where she was a founding member of the
Small Business Opportunity Center. Her experiences there prompted her to
launch a law practice providing business-focused legal representation with a
commitment to high quality service exclusively for entrepreneurs and small
business owners. Her most recent entrepreneurial endeavor is the 0/8 Seafood
Grill and Twisted Cork Wine Bar in Bellevue, a partnership with her husband
and Chef Dan Thiessen and his wife Erika, which opened in November 2006.

Short Survey for Business & Community Leaders
As you may recall, last summer the Chamber launched “Friends of the U.S.
Chamber,” a comprehensive advocacy initiative, which goes beyond
VoteForBusiness (VFB) by directly communicating with participants on issues
they select and providing them with the information and resources to voice
their opinion. Check out the website at
www.friendsoftheuschamber.com.
In an effort to ensure “Friends of the U.S. Chamber” is providing
information on the most important issues of the day, we’ve created a short
one page survey (eight questions), and would ask you to take the survey and
encourage you to share it with you members, co-workers, friends, family,
neighbors and anyone else you know is interested in advancing pro-business
issues in Congress. Here’s a link to the survey:
www.friendsoftheuschamber.com/takeaction/index.cfm?ID=33.
Thank you in advance of your participation, and if you have any questions or
we can be of assistance, please don’t hesitate to call.
